I am a Platform Engineer and Armed Forces Veteran with a specialty in server operations and Linux. I am also the lead developer of LinuxGSM, an open-source project for managing game servers. Here are a few technologies I've been working with recently:

Senior Platform Engineer - ReAssure

This Platform Engineering role involved working on projects related to Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ansible and AWS. I was responsible installing and maintaining RedHat Satellite and refactoring existing Ansible pipelines.

My primary goal was to help the web and Linux teams work more efficiently and effectively by using automation and industry-standard practices, and by collaborating with other departments and developers to utilize our diverse skills and expertise to drive improvements and achieve our objectives.

Using automation tools like Ansible and terraform to streamline the deployment process for web servers such as Apache and Nginx.

Combat Systems Engineer - BAE Systems

Over the course of three years, I held multiple IT-based roles within BAE Systems. My career with the company began with me installing network equipment onboard HMS Prince of Wales before becoming a Combat Systems engineer. In this role, I conducted trials and wrote “Body of Evidence” reports to ensure the product was safe and functional for installation. I also worked on another project, supporting the integration and trials. This included installing cabling infrastructure and clients, maintaining and administering the representative test environment, creating a solution to gather performance metrics, and supporting trial engineers to allow hosted trials to be conducted.

Weapon Engineer - Royal Navy

Feb 2014 - Jul 2018

I have 4 years of experience as a Weapon Engineer in the Royal Navy. Serving on three of the Royal Navys latest warships, working on various communication systems such as ship-based computer networks, self-powered telephones, and broadcast & alarm systems. I had a strong background in the networks section, where I designed a user-friendly graphical interface for the QEC network management system that made an advanced system easy to understand for non-technical personnel. My efforts were recognized with two awards, the Herbert Lott and CO’s Efficiency Award.
